BEACH BUDDY GROUP PROJECT

BRIEF

Create a user-friendly anti-theft device for beachgoers to secure valuables like phones, wallets, and keys. It should be innovative, suitable for all ages and technical skills, and can be personal, portable, or stationary for public use.

FINDINGS

This data shows the different activities that people have visited Bournemouth beach for. The biggest reason is activities on the Promenade, followed by beach related activities and eating/drinking.

This data shows the different group types that visited Bournemouth beach in 2021. The largest group out of the individuals that took part in the survey were couples, followed closely by children.

Coastal crime rates are 12% higher than inland.

In the Southwest, coastal crime is 19% higher.

Antisocial behavior is 20% more common by the coast.

MY FINAL RENDERS

The ‘Beach Buddy’, a portable and lightweight sand sledge with plenty of space to store valuables in the available lockbox along with other beach equipment in the designated storage slots. Flip the product onto its back once in position to make use of the in-built table and most importantly hide the lockbox with the back pedal.
